For sale:- 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 auto MOT End May 12, no road tax is currently on SORN, so will need to be trailered away Vehicle is sold as spares or repair only, no warranty is implied or given, sold as seen, ideal for a off road project Has a few issues:- Crack in inlet manifold (common problem) so blows until warmed up, exhaust also rattles, (appears the baffles have worked loose) Brakes work and stop but will need refurbing at some point with new seals & pistons as they can overheat, new recent front pads, new brake shoes in box included Rust on roof in a couple of places, one sill has been replaced with new metal, OS needs doing, has a small hole at the moment. JEEP CHEROKEE 4.0HIGH OUTPUT Bought for the snow that never came, engine runs very very well, no leaks or rattles or smoke. The automatic transmission is smooth and works perfectly. The four wheel drive is also in working order. It has good tires and brakes and a tow bar with working electrics. Its pretty rough around the edges with plenty of scuffs and dinks, there is some corrosion on the roof by the roof bars where they usually go. The interior is clean but does have an unusual odor! Has lots of load space with the seats down and would make a good tip run vehicle or off-roader. Underneath is solid, no welding is required, strong sills and floor pans. Plenty of life left in her yet, viewing recommended but I can honestly say it’ll get you home. I can tax at the buyers expense before collection. You are bidding to buy, not to view! Jeep 2.5 TD bought for the winter for the no show snow ! On here as putting my Audi back on the road. tax until the end of April, MOT until towards the end of May – will update later today with the exact MOT date. In good condition for the year – see the pics. Did a 450 mile round trip last weekend with no dramas. negatives – has a small radiator leak – I top up as needed, not been too much of an inconvenience. Has a hesitation in revs at 2000 rpm when under load in higher gears but sorts itself out, I have owned this jeep for six months and have enjoyed driving it with no exceptions. Has air-con, cruise control, electric seats, mirrors etc. pretty rare newer shape as a manual 2.5TD, returns over 30MPG on a run. Tyres have plenty of tread, wheels in good condition as many Jeep wheels of this age are not ! Update – 112K miles, not a lot for these at all. Still hunting for the mot but last weekish of may from memory…….
